Nate Learns About Money

Nate Learns About Money

So, Nate earned his first money yesterday, five cents for catching a slug for Sara. He was super excited about receiving the money and immediately wanted to know what he could buy with it. So Sara explained with the five cents he had, he could buy a piece of candy, or if he saved up a one hundred more he could buy a small Lego set. He thought about it a bit, and decided he was going to sell some of his possessions to speed up the process (but only to family members, so he could use them whenever he wants).

On a related note, Nate's prayer last night was that God send lots of slugs into the garden and to make them easy to catch.

Nate's been really getting into drawing. Here's a knights versus cowboys battle scene.

Just some random photos while I wait for Liam to fall asleep.

We were playing I spy with my little eye as family at the dining room table.

We were playing I spy with my little eye as family at the dining room table. We'd been playing multiple rounds, but James hasn't really had a turn because we're playing guesser goes next. Finally James gets a turn. He looks around intently and calls out something purple. As a house with all boys we don't have many purple objects. We guess and guess, but to no avail. We ask for a hint. James, "I was looking in the sunroom." Nate gets up from the table to investigate. James, "I so sneaky, I Iook at the sunroom to trick you." We finally get him to tell us the actual room it's in. It's in the living room. We search based on the angle he can see from. Nothing. Finally we ask him to show us. He gets up, walks around a wall that was blocking his sight line, opens a drawer in our coffee table and pulls out a purple building block. Triumphant, "Here it is!" Guess we need to be clearer on the rules.

"James, what did you learn in Sunday School today?"

James, "We learn about Jesus die on the cross again. He died so many times."
